This is an interesting study
This is an interesting study with translational potential. The authors found increased levels of miR-30c-5p in the CSF and serum of patients with neuropathic pain, suggesting that this miRNA may serve as a biomarker for neuropathic pain. Importantly, miR-30c-5p promotes neuropathic pain in rodents by inhibiting the expression of TGF-β , an anti-inflammatory cytokine that can inhibit neuropathic pain. miR-30c-5p also regulates other target genes. Thus, targeting this miRNA may lead to side effects, especially after intraventricular injection as employed in this study.
