The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University Pain Center seeks a postdoctoral research fellow for an individual interested in dissecting the neuronal circuits and mechanisms underlying the impact of pain on motivated behaviors and drug seeking. The laboratory integrates the study of the molecular and cellular changes induced by drugs of abuse and pain using a combination of state-of-art behavioral, optogenetics, chemogenetics approaches in combination with in vivo recordings (see Massaly et al., 2019, Neuron; Markovic et al., 2021, Nature Neuroscience). Candidates must have a PhD in neuroscience, biochemistry, pharmacology or biomedical sciences. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and be willing to collaborate with the groups within the Pain Center at the Department of Anesthesiology.
