The Department of Anesthesia in collaboration with the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) seeks a basic neuroscientist and/or neuroimmunologist with a focus on pain research for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant or associate professor. We are seeking candidates to establish a major research program examining the development of pain processing, pharmacology, pathophysiology or other aspect of pain and its treatment across the lifespan, including but not limited to diseases involving the immune system. Candidates with expertise in neuroimmune communication, visceral pain or central pain circuits are especially encouraged to apply. Ideally, the candidate will be using new-age technologies that complement the growing pain research community at CCHMC and the closely adjacent University of Cincinnati.
This position will form a foundational component of research in the well-established pain program at CCHMC, including the recently formed Pediatric Pain Research Center. The Center consists of multiple division across CCHMC and includes over 15 research groups. Due to the incredible collaborative environment at CCHMC, the applicant would also have the opportunity to form close working relationships with several other divisions including Gastroenterology, Developmental Biology, Neurology, Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology, Rheumatology, and Surgery to name a few. Through support from the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation (CCRF), this position will provide a generous startup and remuneration package.
